I Want to hear from YOU !
DEMOCRACY IS NOT A
SPECTATOR SPORT
------
"When the people fear the
government you have tyranny ...
when the government fears the people you have liberty."
Thomas Jefferson
The purpose of this page is to inform our
membership: How the political process works; how to become effectively
involved in that process regarding issues of interest to the recreational
angler; and to provide information about the individual legislators.
As election time approaches, we will grade various elected representatives
based on their stance on these issues. RFA is unique in the world of non -
profit recreational fishing organizations due to our status under I.R.S. -
Chapter 501(c) (4). The RFA maintains this status, (even though it makes
fund-raising more difficult), because the I.R.S. imposes no restrictions or
prohibitions on the political action work of organizations under (c) (4).
"I FISH - I VOTE"
The RFA affords all of our members the opportunity to become deeply involved, individually and collectively, in the political process at every level, regarding issues effecting the recreational angling community. As elements of these issues approach critical mass and become time sensitive, they will be highlighted with **, alerting you to check our "RFA / Texas Minuteman" page to learn what immediate action YOU can take to help assure an outcome favorable to the recreational angler.
